The Orsoni Furnace in Venice has been crafting coloured glass mosaics for 135 years. They use methods which were handed down for 4 generations. Every bit of glass is handmade, and they are often seen on buildings all around the world. Right this moment, Orsoni is the final of its type – the one historic furnace permitted to function within the metropolis of Venice. However discovering the subsequent era is a battle. So what does its future maintain? We visited the artisan mosaic glass maker to learn how it’s Nonetheless Standing.

While I am really amazed that they are making the mosaics for the cathedral mentioned here, I can't get over the fact that they are funding the cathedral from tax payer money without giving me the option to decline, it's such a kitsch and unnecessary construction especially that those money would be better spent on so many other urgent things. It's crazy..

Does anyone know where to find these mosaic earrings made in collaboration with D&G? Can't find anything online, not even from dolce and gabbanas nor Orsoni's own websites.

8:17 YO YO YO you cutted, I want to know what he said. You rote "We ran out of young people" but he was clearly saying "If we ran out of young people we have to thank…" which means "if we ran out of young people it is due to…" TO WHO? Stop changing what they say. There are many translation which are off in this video, but that is clearly not an accident. Why did u do that

I went to Venice and we went to a glass factory, maybe this one, which if i recal right plays a role in the gondolas as well. I cannot even attempt to describe how amazing it was, they took a bubble of glass and in minutes was a beautiful amazing Glass Horse Statue. Its amazing what they can do.

They really live from an art, stolen from Constantinople as they raped on our holy temples and stolen everything from our lives. At least, don't forget that this art is for iconography. For icons. So that god will be glorified as he should and not the artists. We hope you repent for your crimes and cry back to Orthodoxy for what you've done on the first alosis of the city of god..

A Renaissance of old architectural philosophies and a revitalized interest in monuments and unique crafts would help so much human history stay in business around the world, its not just this factory.

In Egypt, Papyrus, the renowned and famous ancient paper making technique that goes back to B.C.E., is almost completely out of business because the lack of land for growth and income of material has nearly driven both the business and the crop for papyrus itself into literal extinction. If that were to happen we would probably never see it again.

We need to save our history we dont understand how much we could get from it

Fascinating and beautiful. The Italians are the greatest artists in the world. One small error at 8:23 Russia did not restrict gas supplies. The price of gas surged because Russian Gas was the subject of western sanctions. The international markets and domestic suppliers then leveraged the price and made vastly increased profits at the expense of ordinary people.

as materials and methods become obsolete we eventually don't need them anymore. but I think the knowledge of these manufacturing crafts & arts must be kept alive through books.
